Company History
NorthStar Education Services is a division of NorthStar Capital
Markets. NorthStar Education Services’ mission is to help schools,
nonprofits, lenders, servicers, and other organizations better serve
their students in higher education. NorthStar was founded in 1991
as a guarantor located in St. Paul, Minnesota, and has had various
roles over the years, including lender and service provider to schools
and national banks. As a lender and service provider, NorthStar used
analytical data to drive operations and improve student repayment
performance. NorthStar combines deep student loan knowledge with
superior technology and creative business process management.

Private Loan Origination and Private Loan Consolidation
NorthStar uses a loan origination platform that ensures security, flexibility
and compliance. A component of the loan origination services, Private Loan Place
is a multi-functional online portal for students, schools and lenders which helps
students navigate the loan application process and stores loan data for ease of
reference. It also serves as a channel for school certification and loan management
by financial aid professionals.
